Despite Banksy once calling him a sell out*, Margate based Pop Artist and Psychedelic Illustrator Luke McLean continues to evolve as a creative force.

With his work used on everything from Album sleeves, to fashion, from home ware to beer cans, and having worked in the creative industry for 20 years he has amassed a diverse range of international clients, from the music, film and fashion industries.

Most recently he worked as creative director of London Fields Brewery, culminating in the brand being awarded UK Cool Brand status for 2021, judged by an independent panel of experts, having re-established London Fields as A credible and authentic modern beer brand over a 5 year period.

He Has worked and collaborated with a variety of bands/brands/labels including Carlsberg, Brooklyn Beer, U2, Supergrass, Motorhead, Shakespears Sister, The Horrors, Andrew Weatherall, Red Bull, Wrangler, YouMustCreate and London Fields Brewery.

He also known for his own t-shirt label, product250 which for 10 years sold in some of the most fashionable independent and department stores across the globe.

Embracing Pop art, psychedelic gig posters and graffiti alongside the odd, the everyday & the sometimes surreal Luke McLean’s playful visual language and image making continues to innovate and surprise.

Turning his hand to anything from illustration, print design, fabric design, visual identity, and branding he prides himself on approaching all briefs with creative thought, originality, humour and beauty in mind, whether the work be a commissioned piece or a flight of his own fancy. His enthusiasm, curiosity and eye for detail have stood him in good stead so far gaining recognition in publications such as Vogue, ID, Dazed & Confused and the Creative Review magazine.

Along side commercial endeavours Luke produces personal work in the form of limited edition prints and canvases which are sold in his gallery in Margate.
Kill Me Now gallery features his own work amongst others such as Pure Evil, David Shillinglaw, Hayden Kays, Heretic spectral nation, Babak Ganjei and Le Gun.
